A home Type 2 wallbox charges faster, in 4 to 6 hours, and costs more upfront to install. It pays for itself over time if you drive daily.
Public fast chargers (CHAdeMO or CCS) can charge a battery in 30 to 60 minutes but cost more per unit, and are still concentrated around Colombo, Kandy, and the southern expressway corridor.
Charge at home overnight for daily driving, and save public fast chargers for longer trips.
